Every Year Smoking Causes 80,000 Deaths in England

Did you know that smoking is the biggest cause of deaths in England which could have been prevented? It causes 80,000 deaths every year in England alone.

One of the reasons for it is that smokers are at least 50% more likely to have a STROKE than non-smokers!

Smokers are more likely than non-smokers to have a HEART ATTACK or a stroke because smoking makes their blood thicker which can result in creation of clots. Smoking also increases blood pressure and narrows arteries. Isn't it ridicilus that something which can cause a heart attack is used by people to calm themselves down?

However, the good news is that 15 years after you quit smoking your chances to have a heart attack are similar to those of people who have never smoked. That risked is reven educed by half only after a year after you quit smoking.

But, smoking also causes IMPOTENCE in men and infertility in women. Up to 120,000 men from the UK in their 20s and 30s are impotent as a direct result of smoking.

Other diseases which smoking can cause include reflux, ulcers and STOMACH CANCER. Besides, the more you smoke the higher your chances are to develop a KIDNEY CANCER. So, if you smoke 20 cigarettes a day you are more likely to develop a kidney cancer than someone who smokes 10 cigarettes a day. So, even reduction in of the number of cigaretts you smoke can have positive results.

But, the effect that cigarettes have on people's lungs is also outstanding. It causes 84% of deaths from LUNG CANCER and 83% of deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Additionally, more than 93% of OROPHARYNGEAL CANCERS (cancer in part of the throat) result from smoking. It is terrifying to think that almost every case of throat cancer could have been avoided.

But, the number of negative consequences that smoking brings with itself seems endless as it results in: asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, osteoporosis, cervical cancer, etc. The least serious of them includes bad breath, colds, caughs and wrinkles.

IS IT WORTH IT?
